TASTING NOTES
Juan Jesús is a proud native of Tenerife and the fourth generation of growers. Driven by passion and love for his homeland, Juan decided to work to save and revive the native grape varieties that were brought to the Canary Islands by the conquers back in the 15th century.
Made in concrete eggs, this is a slightly magical wine. The extended period with the grape-skins takes Gual to a whole new place; rosemary, bay leaves, orchard fruits and incense drift out of the glass. Textured and ever-so-slightly firm on the palate, with an incredibly long finish; an incredibly elegant wine. It truly comes to life when paired with lamb, marinated with Mediterranean herbs. -Winemaker's Notes
Three weeks of skin maceration results in a beguilingly aromatic skin contact wine. It has an eye-catching sherry hue with layers of tropical fruit revealing floral notes, herbal nuances, ripe peach, apricot, pear and lemon pith. Textured, rich and complex on the palate, it finishes lush and savory with fresh acidity, fine tannin and a salty finish.
