REGION
Sardinia, Italy
VARIETAL
Monica
TASTING NOTES
Monica is one of the lesser known Sardinian varieties that are grown exclusively on the Italian island of Sardinia. It is a zingy light to medium bodied red with dark berries and plum fruit, spicy-underbrush and some underlying herbal notes with light tannin and medium acidity. The Praja would pair nicely with French onion soup, grilled fish or the traditional Sardinian culurgiones (big, fatty raviolis — filled with potatoes, pecorino and mint with a sweet tomato sauce).
