REGION
Pessac-Léognan, Bordeaux, France
VARIETAL
60% Cabernet Sauvignon & 40% Merlot
TASTING NOTES
Owned and managed by Eric Perrin, the owner of Graves classified growth Chateau Carbonnieux, winemaking at Haut-Vigneau is based on a great respect for its grapes (60% Cabernet Sauvignon and 40% Merlot) and terroir (gravel), together with careful and traditional aging (in 20% new barrels). The result is a wine with very pleasing aromas of black fruit (blackberries, black currant) and subtle roasted notes. -Winemaker's Notes
93pts - Wine Enthusiast
"A ripe wine, full of smooth berry fruits. They are backed by tannins and structure that will allow this wine to mature. Owned by the Perrin family of Château Carbonnieux, the wine is going to develop well."
90pts - Wine Spectator
"Sweet bay leaf and tobacco notes curl around a core of red currant and black cherry puree flavors. A subtle tarry note grounds the finish. Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. Drink now through 2030."
