TASTING NOTES
The Chavy family has deep roots in Puligny that span nearly 200 years. In 1976, after years of supplying grapes to négociants, they started bottling wine under their own label. Domaine Gerard Chavy et Fils quickly became recognized as one of the finest domaines in the village. The estate dissolved in 2003 due to a family dispute, and Alain Chavy struck out on his own to found Chavy-Martin. With plots in Les Folatières, Le Champs Gain, Les Pucelles, and the prestigious Les Clavoillons, Chavy-Martin produces Burgundy wines of great depth and minerality.
This village level Puligny-Montrachet gathers grapes from eight different climats that span two and a half hectares. It is medium-bodied with a fine balance between fresh acidity and fruit richness. Aromas of citrus fruit and subtle toast mingle with pear and acacia flowers. It showcases notes of lemon zest, green apple, and stone fruit (peach or apricot), accompanied by a delicate mineral backbone, a hallmark of Puligny-Montrachet, with a long, crisp, elegant finish. This versatile wine pairs well with seared scallops, creamy asparagus risotto or poultry with cream sauces.
