Castilla-La Mancha, Spain
70% Garnacha Tintorera (Alicante Bouschet) & 30% Moravia Agria
'Envínate' ('wine yourself' for us Yanks) is a group of four friends making great strides in the world of Spanish wine. The winemakers use no chemicals, all parcels are picked by hand, and the wines are fermented exclusively with wild yeasts. Moravia Agria is a less well-known Spanish varietal, and while Agria may translate to "bitter", do not let those words deter you. Unfined and unfiltered, this wine explodes with a bouquet of cassis, leather, spice, and cedar, while the palate showcases black cherry, graphite, and prunes. Enjoy this wine with orange-balsamic lamb chops, grilled sardines, or Mediterranean turkey meatballs.
