This ultra-popular brand is distilled in Indiana from a mash bill of 95% premium rye and 5% malted barley, which is considerably more than the minimum government standard of 51% rye. After it exits the still, the whiskey is transported to Bardstown, Kentucky where it is aged in new, charred white oak barrels for an average age of between 2 1/2 years to 3 years. It is then filtered and rendered to 46% alcohol (92 proof).
Redemption Rye is a classy whiskey perfectly in step with contemporary tastes. The amber/reddish whiskey has a satiny, lightweight body and a wafting cinnamon, dried fruit, malt, toffee and toasted oak nose. Its aromatics are well worth the price of admission. The entry is spicy warm and immediately expands filling the mouth with the flavors of allspice, coffee, chocolate, vanilla, black cherries and toffee with pronounced rye grain notes. The finish is long, flavorful and decidedly spicy.
Redemption is a traditional style of rye whiskey that deserves being sampled neat, or over a few cubes of ice. The whiskey has sufficient vitality to shine on its own. But as great as it is sipped straight, Redemption Rye is that much better featured in a classic cocktail, such as the Old Fashioned, Sazerac or Manhattan.
The One and Only New Orleans Original. Sazerac Rye Whiskey symbolizes the tradition and history of New Orleans. Rye Whiskey that dates back to the 1800’s, around the time when saloons, veiled as Coffee Houses, began lining the streets of New Orleans. It was at the Sazerac Coffee House on Royal Street where local patrons were served toddies made with Rye Whiskey and Peychaud’s Bitters. The libation became known as the “Sazerac” and America’s first branded cocktail was born. This is the whiskey that started it all.
Aromas of clove, vanilla, anise and pepper. Subtle notes of candies spices and citrus. The big finish is smooth with hints of licorice. -Distiller's Notes
The original Springbank whisky has been distilled legally on the site of the present distillery since 1828, and probably illicitly since well before then! Known and loved amongst whisky enthusiasts the world over, Springbank is produced using lightly-peated barley and a unique two-and-a-half-times distillation. Produced using the most traditional of production techniques, from floor malting all the way through to the bottling stage, Springbank can best be described as a "hand-made" single malt.
A perfect introduction to the Springbank range. Whilst bourbon casks are mainly used for maturation, allowing the distillery character to shine through, a number of sherry casks are also used for added body. The light colour of this malt belies the richness of its character. Whilst the nose suggests a wide range of aromas, from citrus fruits to pears and a hint of peat, the palate excites even further with touches of smoke, vanilla essence, nutmeg, cinnamon and the salty tang we have come to expect from Springbank. -Distillery Notes
"Gold color, fresh sea breeze aroma, with vanilla and delicately soft fruit. Medium body. Appetizing, exciting flavors of vanilla, toffee, brine and subtle note of coconut and spearmint. Long teasing finish." - The Malt Advocate
Hudson Baby Bourbon is the first bourbon whiskey to be distilled in New York. Named “Best Artisan Distiller of 2010” by the American Distilling Institute, this single grain bourbon is made from 100% New York corn and aged in special small American Oak barrels. This unique aging process produces a mildly sweet, smooth spirit with hints of vanilla and caramel. The BABY is Tuthilltown’s first whiskey and the first legal pot-distilled whiskey made in New York since prohibition. Hudson Baby Bourbon is a perfect introduction to aged whiskey spirits. It is mild and friendly, bright to the tongue and warming all the way down with notes of marzipan and roasted corn. Each bottle is hand waxed and numbered. It is a true American classic. We recommend trying the BABY in one of Tuthilltown Spirits signature cocktails.
The Basil and Bourbon
