TASTING NOTES
Savagnin, not to be confused with Sauvignon Blanc, is best known as the signature grape of Jura. Jura wines are known for their characteristic oxidated style or nuttiness, however, Terres Bleues is less oxidative highlighting the fresh fruit of savagnin. It has an expressive, rich aroma with a predominance of ripe tree fruit tones, citrus accents and hints of toasted almonds on the nose. Crisp apple, hazelnut, cream, lemon verbena, buttered toast and honey combine with a wave of acidity and an edge of salty minerality on the tongue. This savory white would be a great match with pan seared scallops or a caramelized fennel and Comté tart.
