Cirò, Calabria, Italy
VARIETAL
70% Gaglioppo, 15% Malvasia Nera & 15% Greco Nero
TASTING NOTES
Gaglioppo is a rustic variety native to Calabria and sometimes referred to as the Nebbiolo of the south. The Serra Sanguigna Rosso shows aromas and flavors of deep, dark dried cherry, red currant, violet, earth and licorice with chewy but approachable tannin on the finish. Find an array of smoked or cured meats such as capicola, soppressata and pancetta served alongside fresh olives, artichokes, tomatoes and melons for this savory Italian.
