TASTING NOTES
Does this label remind anyone of 'The Godfather'? With records dating back to 1791, the house of Italo Pietrantonj is one of the oldest wineries in Abruzzo. The winery is now run by Roberta and Alice whose great-great-great grandfather, Nicola, was the first certified winemaker in the region. Allow this wine to open and earthy aromas of oregano, plum, and soft leather are sure to entice you. On the palate, seductive flavors of cherry, dried floral, anise and sweet tobacco give way to soft tannins that round the finish. Make this wine an offer it can't refuse and pair it with roast pork shoulder, aged cheddar, beef enchiladas, or a baked potato.
