TASTING NOTES
Considered by some to be the birthplace of wine, Georgia is one of the oldest winemaking regions in the world, with evidence of vinification stretching back 8,000 years. Pheasant's Tears was founded by Gela Patalishvili, a winegrower and farmer in the Kakheti region of eastern Georgia, and John Wurdeman, an American painter based in Georgia. The name  comes from a Georgian tale in which the hero claims that only a wine beyond measure could make a pheasant cry tears of joy. With each bottle that leaves their hands, John and Gela strive to meet that ancient standard.

The Quinta is a field blend of 5 indigenous grapes co-fermented on the skins for one day before aging in Georgian Qvevri (clay pots), which are buried in the ground to naturally regulate the temperature. It has delicate red fruit aromas and hints of violet and forest floor. Leather, earth and spice surround subtle notes of cherry, red currant and pomegranate with a touch of smoke balanced by energetic acidity on a silky palate. This intriguing wine is delicious on its own or can be enjoyed with bagels and locks, a charcuterie board or a grilled chicken salad.
