TASTING NOTES
Jérôme Bourgeois-Diaz is a 4th generation vigneron who has been making some of the most compelling Champagne in Crouttes-sur-Marne, on the banks of the Marne River halfway between Paris and Reims. Though he has deep family roots in the area, he was not always working in the vines, having had a previous career in industrial sales before taking over from his father in 2001. The Bourgeois-Diaz wines combine Jérôme’s astuteness in the art of Champagne making with his experimental streak, and his deep-seeded understanding of the vines and the ecosystem surrounding them. They are the incarnation of pure elegance and intrigue. -Importer's Notes
As the second of the two Bourgeois-Diaz Champagnes designed to highlight two of the most emblematic terroirs of the estate, Les Bien Aimées Pinot Noir-based Blanc de Noirs, comes from a vineyard situated in Nanteuil-sur-Marne, planted in 1963 using “sélection massale” to select and propagate only the best performing vines from the previous vineyard and neighbouring ones. The color of the Les Aimées is golden yellow, the nose reveals gourmet notes of pastry, and the mouth expresses a delicate vinosity, well balanced between power and fruit. -Winemaker's Notes
