TASTING NOTES
Garnet red in color, elegant notes of rose and violet, red berries, a vein of fresh minerality, snappy and silky tannins. Long, persistent finish. Nebbiolo in all its beauty. It goes well with game and blue cheeses, but when young it can be a perfect companion on any table. -Winemaker's Notes
94pts - Wine Advocate
"This wine opens with a distinctive floral signature of crushed rose, tar and hints of black licorice. The Cascina delle Rose 2022 Barbaresco Tre Stelle, produced in a run of 8,000 bottles, ferments in stainless steel and matures for 24 months in oval-shaped Slovenian botti measuring 15 to 20 hectoliters. The vineyards sit on Sant’Agata Fossili Marls, with layered marine sediments. Of these three Barbaresco releases from the very warm and dry 2022 vintage, the Tre Stelle shows crisp, classic lines, with tannins that feel more yielding in this case, revealing a chalky, fine-textured side. The wine's accessible personality works well in 2022."
93pts - Jeb Dunnuck
"Pouring a transparent red hue, the 2022 Barbaresco Tre Stelle exemplifies the open, approachable side of the site. On the nose, it offers ripe cranberries, wild strawberries, fresh roses, and sweet herbs, gaining a peachy, stone-fruited tone with air. On the palate, it’s medium-bodied and light on its feet, with refreshing structure, vertical lift, and a pleasing, clean finish."
92pts - Vinous
"The 2022 Barbaresco Tre Stelle is soft, open-knit and gracious. In this warm, dry year, the Tre Stelle is even more inviting in its youth than usual. All the elements are so well balanced. The extreme conditions of the growing season are not especially evident in the wine's flavor profile, although the structure is a touch on the lighter side. Even so, this is an unqualified success. Dried flowers, mint and white pepper brighten the lifted, aromatic finish."
