Chateau Chizay was founded in 1995 on the site of a 17th century winery in the Chizay Valley near the Hungarian border. This region of Ukraine has a long history of winemaking in its own right that combines traditions from Austrian, Hungarian & Italian viticulture. While rooted in local winemaking practices, Chateau Chizay also looks toward the future by taking on several sustainability measures such as converting to solar energy and using electric vehicles for farming. Their Sauvignon Blanc is delicately herbal with bright citrus notes, and would pair well with grilled fish or soft cheeses.
