85% Merlot & 15% Cabernet Franc
Lalande-de-Pomerol is a satellite of Pomerol, directly to the north of its famous, smaller neighbor. However, it still shares Pomerol’s signature "crasse de fer", the local name for the iron-rich clay subsoil believed responsible for the distinct aromas and texture in the region’s Merlot dominated blends. This Bordeaux has a terrific nose of sweet black cherries, cassis, raspberry, licorice, and vanilla. The wine is medium to full-bodied, intense, pure, delineated, and remarkably elegant.
