Châteauneuf-du-Pape, Rhône Valley, France
80% Grenache, 10% Syrah, 5% Mourvèdre & 5% Cinsault
Hugely aromatic red and dark berry, potpourri and floral scents are underscored by smoky minerality and a suggestion of Asian spices. Sappy, focused and impressively deep yet lively, offering alluringly sweet raspberry, cherry compote and spicecake flavors. -Importer's Notes

"I loved Clos des Brusquieres’s 2015 Châteauneuf du Pape, which was tasted as a barrel sample, and this classic beauty is loaded with Provençal notes of sweet cherries, cedar, spice-box and garrigue. About as textbook and old school as they come, with medium-bodied richness, ripe tannin and a great finish, this beauty will drink well for 10-15 years. The blend of the 2015 is 60% Grenache, 20% Mourvèdre and the rest Syrah and other permitted varieties."
