TASTING NOTES

Located in the village of Irouléguy, this centuries-old family estate run by Peio Espil reflects a strong Basque identity and commitment to organic viticulture. Espil blends tradition with ongoing exploration, producing wines that are expressive, deeply textured, and increasingly influential within the appellation. The rosé, made from Tannat and Cabernet Franc, is fermented in stainless steel (including malolactic fermentation) to enhance its richness and roundness. Served slightly chilled, it’s a versatile, food-friendly wine suited to aperitifs or pairings with fish, charcuterie, appetizers, and white meats.
