TASTING NOTES
A remarkably fresh Champagne, this new wine from Moussé is majority Meunier with Pinot Noir rounding out the blend. The L’Esquisse is brimming with notes of orange zest, orchard fruits, red fruits like cherry or raspberry, and almond croissant come together in both the nose and palette to make a dangerously drinkable, pleasurable Champagne. Pair with dishes like watermelon and feta salad or a tinned fish board. -Importer's Notes
90pts - Wine Advocate
"Moussé's NV Blanc de Noirs L'Esquisse, based on the 2023 vintage and enhanced by 15% reserve wines, originates from the villages of Cuisles, Jonquery and Châtillon-sur-Marne. The cuvee comprises 60% organically farmed grapes, and 40% of the blend are tailles. Aromas of pear, peach, early-blooming white flowers and citrus zest waft from the glass, introducing a medium- to full-bodied palate that is fleshy and charming, with a generous core of fruit and tangy acidity."
93pts - Vinous
"The NV (2023) Brut L'Esquisse is a powerful, driving wine. Dried pear, herbs, chamomile and crushed flowers lend a distinctly savory character. I especially admire the wine's energy and tension, both of which make it a fabulous choice for the dinner table. L'Esquisse is 76% Meunier and 24% Pinot Noir from Cuisles, Jonquery and Châtillon-sur-Marne, based on 2023 with 15% reserve wines. Dosage is 1.5 grams per liter. Disgorged: February 6, 2025."
