Favonius wines are made from small plots in and around Armoreira and Alcobaca, both surrounding the Lisboa area and very close to the famed massive surfing wave Nazaré. Through their knowledge and expertise in organic fertilizers and biostimulants, winemakers Rodrigo Martins & Pedro Cabanita have managed to partner with the most serious landowners and cultivate trusting relationships that enable them to properly and sustainably nurture the vineyards for the long-term vision and health of the land. Their natural approach to cultivating the land and minimal winemaking highlights the local grape varieties of Touriga Nacional, Casetelão, Arinto and Fernão Pires.
This pét nat rosé is made from Touriga Nacional, one of Portugal’s most celebrated grape varieties, especially prominent in the Douro and Dão regions. Influenced by the Atlantic Ocean and clay-limestone soils, this wine expresses a different character in the Lisboa region. The grapes develop higher acidity and are less jammy with lower alcohol. Flavors of spiced plum and wild raspberry burst on the tongue, highlighted by hints of citrus and refreshing acidity. Grab this for the beach, a BBQ or sipping on the roof.
