TASTING NOTES

Fabelhaft means both ‘fabulous’ and ‘containing fables.’ The label is of a German fable in which a pair of ducks fight over a frog for dinner, only to be captured by a chef themselves. This Riesling is a blend of all the different high-sloped estate vineyards and showcases this particular part of the Mosel. It has fresh aromatics and flavors of honeysuckle, lemongrass, green apple and apricot combined with light floral notes. The rounded mouthfeel has bright, stony minerality coupled with a brisk acidity for a clean finish balancing the sweet and tart harmoniously. It will make a perfect match with bratwurst and sauerkraut, spicy Indian dishes or a buttermilk cake with poached pears.
