TASTING NOTES This Barolo showcases a harmonious blend of ripe fruit characteristics, spice elements, and well-integrated oak influences. The combination of rich red fruits, licorice, and warm spices results in an inviting and intricate flavor profile typical of high-quality Barolo wines. The fruit-forward nature of this vintage suggests a wine that is approachable and enjoyable even in its youth while still maintaining the depth and complexity expected from a Barolo DOCG. -Importer's Notes
93pts - Vinous "The 2022 Barolo is fabulous. Dark, layered and wonderfully nuanced, the 2022 is seriously impressive. The purity of the fruit is just compelling. Crushed rose petal, sweet red berry fruit, blood orange, cinnamon and pine are some of the many notes that build in the glass. This is such a finessed Barolo. Bright floral notes reappear to frame the finish."
93pts - Wine Advocate "The Gianfranco Alessandria 2022 Barolo is polished, fruit-forward and balanced, with vibrant cherry and blackcurrant on first nose. This wine definitely starts off on the right foot, aromatically speaking, and follows through with good structure and a medium- to full-bodied texture. Aged for 24 months in barrique, only 10% of which is new oak, it shows a level of accessibility that is very much in line with the vintage. I am enjoying many of the 2022s, especially classic expressions such as this one, despite a bit more grit on the tannins. The wine remains harmonious throughout, offering immediate appeal without sacrificing its Nebbiolo character. This had a production of 15,000 bottles."
