H.M. Borges is a family-run Madeira wine producer that’s been around since 1877 and is now led by cousins Helena and Isabel Borges. They make their wines the traditional way in a charming old building in Funchal, using grapes from small local growers. With about 200,000 bottles a year, they’re one of just a few producers left on the island, offering everything from classic aged wines to special vintage editions.
