In 2013, Icelandic artist Óskar Ericsson created a homemade gin. Intended to be the perfect fishing companion he used to take it along on fishing trips in the Icelandic wilderness. Inspired by the scents of herbs that grow along the banks of rivers, the gin was an ode to the river and was named after the Himbrimi, which is the Icelandic name of the Common Loon, a bird well-known to all Icelandic fishermen.
This gin is slowly distilled using the natural energy of geothermal water, which produces a smooth gin of exceptional quality. It's a unique London Dry Gin with hints of wild arctic thyme and angelica and is perfect served with a crisp tonic or shaken into your favourite cocktail.
Nose: Fresh citrus and angelica. A floral scent of wildflowers.
Palate: Extremely smooth and soft. Good balance between the juniper, angelica and citrus, with a whisper of lavender-like arctic thyme.
Finish: Long and smooth aftertaste.
Mood: Casual and festive.
As a gesture of gratitude, 5% of the revenue generated from the sale of each bottle will be donated for nature conservation in Iceland.
