TASTING NOTES
Winemaker Fabrizio Iuli grew up around restaurants and winemaking. His grandmother established a little osteria in their living room while his grandfather tended to a hectare of barbera on the hillside behind their home. After a stint as a jewelry designer, Fabrizio returned to his home and decided to follow his passion for wine. Fabrizio Iuli calls himself a barberista, for his love, focus and dedication to the Barbera grape.
The Umberto is fresh and juicy with dark cherry, ripe fig and blackberry fruit, accents of licorice, earth and spice with a bit of tannin. It can easily be paired with a sausage pizza, veggie lasagna or a hearty meatloaf.
