TASTING NOTES

This small negociant project known as Les Terres de Philéandre, launched in 2018 by David Duband, is named after his twins Philomène and Léandre. His aim is to explore appellations not represented under his eponymous label, as well as new methods in the cellar, such as sulfur-free vinifications and fermentation and ageing in concrete eggs. Through consistent observation and adaptation, the wines from Les Terres de Philéandre have quickly become some of the most compelling values we have tasted in the Côte d’Or! -Importer's Notes

 

The Serpentières opens with vibrant aromas of wild strawberry, fresh red currant and crushed rose petals, underscored by a distinct peppery spice. On the palate, the 50-year-old vines deliver a silky, fleshy core of red fruit balanced by soft tannin and an energetic, limestone-driven acidity. The finish is pure and lifted, showcasing the ripeness of the 2022 vintage with a sophisticated, mineral-etched structure. It will pair elegantly with truffle-infused pastas, roasted quail or coq au vin.
