TASTING NOTES

The Ligurian coast, also known as the Italian Riviera, is a small, crescent-shaped wine region in northwestern Italy known for its unique, rugged landscape and heroic viticulture. It's characterized by its steep, terraced vineyards clinging to the slopes of the Apennine and Alps foothills, often requiring manual labor due to the challenging terrain. Rossese di Dolceacqua is a red grape variety unique to the coastal area of Liguria. It is elegant and light-bodied but has a lovely depth. It shows notes of wild red fruits such as pomegranate, cranberry and wild strawberry, complemented by floral aromas and Mediterranean herbs, with a distinct minerality. It has a savory quality and refined tannin that can be paired with Ligurian-style dishes such as rabbit with Taggiasca olives or a pesto pasta topped with shrimp and prosciutto.
