Renato Fenocchio Barbaresco 2015, Piedmont, Italy

Piedmont, Italy

Did you know that the name Nebbiolo is derived from "nebbia" the Italian word for “fog.” The name of this grape most likely came from the white, powder-like natural bloom on the grape that appears during harvest season. Definitely a more feminine expression of Nebbiolo, this wine possesses scents of rose petals, clay and blackberry with flavors of black cherry, leather and anise rounded out by soft, silky tannins. Stunning on its own, but also will go nicely alongside porcini risotto, steak tartare or roasted chukar.
