Rhône Valley, France
We know Merlot gets a bad rap, but please don't listen to the haters. After all, Merlot is a noble grape. Grown by a farmers collective founded in 1922, the grapes are harvested from 8 sustainably farmed hectares located in the villages of Roquemaure and Saint Genies de Colomas. The vineyards close proximity to the Rhone river leads to a fresher fruit style and softer tannic structure. Your nose will notice notes of plum, chocolate, and cherry, whilst your palate finds flavors of black pepper, blueberry compote, and clove. Pair this misunderstood wine with grilled cheese, roast chicken, or Portabello parmigiana.
