Rhône Valley, France
We know it gets a bad rap but please don't hate on this Merlot, it is a noble grape after all. Grown by a farmer's collective started in 1922, the grapes are harvested off 8 sustainably farmed hectares located in the villages of Roquemaure and Saint Genies de Colomas. Both towns close proximity to the Rhone river leads to a fresher fruit style and softer tannic structure. Your nose will notice notes of plum, chocolate and cherry whilst your palate finds flavors of black pepper, blueberry compote and clove. Pair this misunderstood wine with grilled cheese, roast chicken or Portabello parmigiana.
