Puy-de-Dôme, Loire Valley, France
Grown on volcanic soil, this Pinot Noir has a definite vein of minerality running through. It has pretty scents of strawberry preserves and crushed cherries that drift from the glass. Flavors of Morello cherry, peony, and earth linger on the tongue ending with a peppery, mineral finish and soft tannin. Loads of red fruit and thirst quenching acidity call for swordfish, pork tenderloin or mushroom risotto.
