The Tequila Siete Leguas distillery was responsible for producing the "original" Patron Tequila brand. Then brand rights were sold to St. Maarten Spirits, owners John Paul DeJoria (Paul Mitchell Hair Products) and Martin Crowley in 1989. Siete Leguas always being a top quality brand and very traditional, refused to rush the procedure to make Patron faster. As the brand grew, Tequila Siete Leguas was no longer able to keep up with production, and Patron built a new distillery and moved all production in 2002.
If you like traditionally made, real tequila with additive free bold agave flavors...... this is for you.
The Siete Leguas Añejo is clearly defined by the aroma of slow cooked agave and a delicate oak barrel endnote. In the mouth, all its aromatic fullness unwinds with authentic spicy agave character and persistent sweet oak notes. All this is the result of the great care that our tequila undergoes during its 24 months of aging in white oak barrels. -Distillery's Notes
