Baratuciat is an ancient and almost forgotten white grape variety from Piemonte, whose name is local Piedmontese dialect for “cat’s balls” (a nod to the grape’s small, round shape). Rarely grown, it has found renewed life in the hands of thoughtful producers like Summer Wolff.
Macerated on the skins for 8 days, the Ette offers tension, freshness and a savory saline lift with light texture. It has an aromatic nose of white peach, ripe pear and Meyer lemon zest layered with hints of orange blossom. The palate balances juicy stone fruit and citrus with crisp acidity, a whisper of white tea and crunchy minerality.
