TASTING NOTES
Trapet Père et Fils is a seventh-generation estate based in Gevrey-Chambertin and is among the largest holders of Chambertin and is currently run by Jean-Louis Trapet. During the Phylloxera epidemic, Jean-Louis Trapet’s great-grandfather illegally grafted vines in an effort to preserve their holdings, an act that ultimately contributed to Burgundy’s recovery. A pioneer of natural viticulture in the region, Jean-Louis Trapet remains at the forefront of biodynamic farming alongside peers such as Frédéric Lafarge, Dominique Lafon, and Lalou Bize-Leroy. The domaine is widely celebrated for producing wines of purity, complexity, and finesse from an appellation more often associated with power.
This lovely red Burgundy is from younger Gevrey vines, creating a classic Pinot Noir that offers a bright, elegant profile with fresh red cherry and raspberry fruit, subtle earthy undertones and a touch of spice, supported by silky tannin and a lively, balanced finish.
