Brunello di Montalcino, Tuscany, Italy
Bright ruby red with garnet reflections. On the nose, clean, refined notes of dark cherry, prune and violets lead to more complex notes of blueberry, vanilla, tobacco, cinnamon. Full-bodied yet nimble with lasting flavors of cherry, prune and blueberry. - Winemaker's Notes
92pts - James Suckling
"This is a red with soft and silky tannins. Full and savory flavors that deliver dried strawberry and light walnut character. Hints of cream. Flavorful and delicious. Drink now."
90pts - Robert Parker
"Val di Suga is a winery with a proven track record for consistency. The 2011 Brunello di Montalcino opens to generous aromas of dried cherry, wild berry, black currant, leather, cola and balsamic herb. The mouthfeel in this vintage is slightly thinner compared to past editions. Neither does it last as long in terms of persistence. But the fullness and overt intensity of the bouquet does a good job of compensating for this. I would suggest drinking this wine within the next ten years."
