REGION
Rosso di Montalcino, Tuscany, Italy
VARIETAL
Sangiovese
TASTING NOTE
This Rosso di Montalcino has pretty herbal and floral scents with ripe red fruit aromas. The textured palate reveals wild strawberry, black currant, orange zest and a dash of salt with hints of white pepper and smoke. Let it open in the glass and more concentrated fruit emerges and unwinds. This is a delightful Rosso with a lot of energy that can accompany a Italian sausage pizza or a hearty pasta Bolognese made with pork, veal and ground beef.
92pts - James Suckling
"A smoky and ambitious wine, like a baby Brunello. It shows aromas of smoke, woodland, fresh violets, dried cherries and licorice. Firm, chewy tannins on the palate, with crisp acidity and a medium to full body. Warming yet balanced at the end. Drink or hold."
91pts - Jeb Dunnuck
"Medium ruby-colored, the 2023 Rosso Di Montalcino is fresh with aromas of ripe strawberries, fresh berries, dusty earth, and orange peel. It's zesty and refreshing on the palate, with fine tannins and a clean, elegant feel throughout. It is approachable now and will drink well over the next 6-8 years."
