TASTING NOTE
94pts - John Gillman
"The 2018 Wendling Vineyard pinot noir from Wells Guthrie is another outstanding wine. This is a far more black fruity wine than the Abel Vineyard, offering up a pure and already beautifully complex constellation of black cherries, black plums, pomegranate, fresh herbs, dark soil tones, black tea, gamebird, raw cocoa, a lovely touch of allspice and a smoky topnote. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied, complex and soil-driven, with a sappy core of fruit, lovely transparency and bounce, fine-grained tannins and a perfectly balanced, suave and vibrant finish. This is dynamite wine in the making."
