This entree level Burgundy delivers way beyond its mere $30 and change, especially since Burgundy prices keep climbing. It begins with aromas of violets, raspberries and a hint of licorice which raises the brow and beckons for a taste. On the palate, touches of earth combine with dark cherries, red plums and baking spice ending with a soft, lingering finish. This light to medium bodied Pinot has soft tannins and moderate acidity making it enjoyable to imbibe on its own or would pair exquisitely with paté, rillettes and terrines.
