Mountford Estates is a boutique winery set in a park-like environment on the northwest face of the Waipara Valley’s eastern hills. This lovely expression of Pinot Noir has scents of Santa Rosa plums, sandalwood and sweet Asian spices. Elegant and smooth with a medium bodied style, complex hints of mushrooms, earth and a light smokiness match refreshing black plum and black cherry fruit balanced by fresh acidity. Chill it just a bit and serve with roast chicken, sweetbreads or roast leg of lamb.
