TASTING NOTES
Medium-high depth, intense cherry red, with a clean, bright pink rim. The nose stands out for its intense aromas of red blackberries, wild strawberries and hints of underbrush set against a balsamic background of aniseed, sweet liquorice, cinnamon and cedar to round off a fine bouquet. Very noticeable velvety texture in the mouth, with well-balanced acidity and elegant, pleasant tannins, giving way to a fresh aftertaste in which the nuances of ripe fruit and liquorice showcase the typicity of this Rioja Alavesa wine. -Winemaker's Notes

"The 2019 Finca San Martín is pure Tempranillo from the younger vines on richer soils, the grapes not used for Martelo that deliver rounder and fruitier wines. It fermented in stainless steel for 14 days with a slow malolactic of 74 days and matured in 60% new American oak barrels and 40% second-use French oak barrels for 16 months. It's round and fruity, with juicy fruit, round tannins and a gentle mouthfeel."
